Damien Long

1 - When did you join the PigDogs and why?

I joined in the spring of 2006 when I moved to Dartmouth and was looking for a place to hit someone and drink beer, two things I've learned the PigDogs are good at.

2 - What do you enjoy about Rugby?

The fact that no matter what happens on the pitch you can shoot the bull and have a drink with the other guys afterwards.

3 - Other clubs you've played for?

I've dressed a time or two for the Tars, Saint and Saint John Canadians, with a few years playing college for the NSAC Rams.

4 - What have been some of your highlights?

University Maritime Champs 2001, PigDog Rookie of the Year 2006 and most importantly, laying guys out in front of hundreds of drunks every year at Truro 7's

5 - What other sports do you play?

Can't skate and non contact is no fun. I think the only other thing I would be interested in is lacrosse, that game looks nuts.

6 - Who is your favorite PigDog?

That's not a fair question, but I'd have to say Davin. He's the only player to trim his nether region for me (anyone who has ever played 2nd row knows sometimes you get more than a props shorts. We had to do something about that.

7 - What's the best part about being a PigDog?

Having a reputation that even though we're a bunch of overgrown rough looking guys, everyone knows were just there to have fun no matter where we are and don't make trouble. That being said, don't mess with one of us cause we look out for each other.

8 - Who is your favorite club to play against?

It used to be Truro because I knew a lot of the guys but now I've got to say PEI because I love playing against guys that whine when you hit them hard.

9 - What's your favorite PigDog event?

Any get-together at Doolittle's, especially when you get a good set of rugby songs going. Seriously what would we have to do to get tossed out of there?

10 - Where would you like to see the PigDogs take a Road trip to?

Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland, I've heard you can play some good rugby and have a good time, have you heard of the George Street festival?

Anything you would like to add?

I plan on playing for a long time yet and I would love to see more rugby for kids. I think that would be great for the future of the sport.
